Phone Polling of Dist. 73 Residents has Begun

A professional phone polling company has begun contacting residents to collect additional feedback on the facilities options presented by DLR Group, district architect, on Oct 19.  The polling company will be identified as Promark Research or Call Research on caller ID.  Phone polling will be conducted through Nov. 1.

Tell Us What You Think about Hawthorn Schools

During the Board of Education meeting, Jason Lembke, architect with the DLR Group, shared that the online survey distributed after the October 19 Special Board meeting continues to receive responses on a daily basis.  The survey will remain open for community input until Nov. 1.  A professional phone polling company has also begun contacting residents to collect additional feedback.

The Core Team which consists of parents, staff, community members, administration and the DLR Group will reconvene to analyze the data, focus on priorities provided by the School Board and refine concepts based on community ideas and input.  A second community meeting will be held on a date to be determined in order to present hybrid concepts to residents.  A final recommendation will be made to the Board of Education in December.  The Board will make a decision in January 2017 regarding a comprehensive plan to address the growth needs for Hawthorn.  If the Board decides to place a referendum question on the ballot regarding this facilities plan, a vote would occur on April 4, 2017.

Halloween Party Guidelines for Parents and Students

Dear Townline Parents,

There’s a chill in the air and there are pumpkins in the patch!  We are looking forward to the Halloween festivities at Townline Elementary School on October 31st.  Following lunch/recess, students will dress in costume for a school-wide Halloween parade.  After the parade, students will return to homerooms for their PTO sponsored room parties for the remainder of the afternoon.

Please do not send any treats/candy for the parties as this is a new guideline agreed to by our PTO and administrative team.  Also, please do not bring younger or older siblings to the parties.

You can find all the important information in the letter Dr. Kieffer shared this week:

TL Halloween Party Guidelines Letter
