Before/After School Care Nears Capacity

The Vernon Hills Park District opened registration for the new Hawthorn Afterschool Program (HAP).  It is nearing capacity at some schools for the students in Grades Kindergarten through Six. Most Improved Student Award

Twelve students throughout Hawthorn District 73 received the Most Improved Students Award at a recent Board of Education meeting. Residency Verification

Residency verification for all Hawthorn families takes place in August. New 3 Year Contract Approved

Hawthorn District 73 is pleased to announce that the Board of Education and the Hawthorn Education Association representing our teachers and educational support personnel have come to an agreement on a new three-year contract.

Students Raise Funds for AHA

Hawthorn District 73 elementary schools collectively raised more than $40,000 for the American Heart Association in its annual Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser. School Calendar Approved for 2015-16

The Hawthorn Board of Education approved the 2015-16 school calendar pending state approval. The calendar outlines the first day of school, days off for major holidays, school breaks, as well as sets the last day of school. View the calendar here.
